Sometimes doing the Tracy Anderson Method can feel quite restrictive; with all the time and hard work that goes into doing the Tracy workouts you REALLY don’t want to do anything to hamper/undo your results. Tracy Anderson and experience has told us to be wary of certain kinds of fitness; cycling bulks our thighs, running will give us an “ugly runners butt”, yoga is “bulking”, pilates will give us a “massive core” so it’s hard to know what kind of activities we can take up in our day to day lives that will compliment or at least not be a detriment to Tracy’s method.
Thankfully now we know it’s okay to do paddle boarding- because Tracy does it! And Tracy’s definitely to be trusted- she doesn’t even go cycling for aforementioned reasons.
So what are the benefits of paddle boarding? Well firstly it’s loads of fun, relaxing (when you’re not too worn out!) and if you’re lucky enough to live near the beach this is a great way to make the most of your surroundings. When you’re paddle boarding you will employ your core muscles to help you balance- which is a big factor in Tracy’s workouts, and you’ll get a good upper body workout from the actual paddling. If it all gets too much you can lie down and enjoy the sunshine.
Paddle boarding has really taken off, with celebrity fans including Cindy Crawford, Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Richie, Kate Hudson, Rihanna, Nicole Scherzinger, Alessandra Ambrosio, Denise Richards, Robert Downey Jr, Matt Damon, Michelle Rodriguez, Cameron Diaz and Matthew McConaughey.
